46 chevy pickup

I've just started to work on my project, a 46 chevy pickup, which i plan to rod. I want a different rear end for it, but im not sure what rear ends would be the right width for it. Any help would be great.
And i need to know if the subframe from a 55 chevy car would be the same size as the subframe in my pickup.
