: I just got back my 289 from the engine rebuilder. It should make 275 hp. It has been bored .040 over, balanced, comp extreme cam, double roller timing chain, heads have been ported and polished. Between 9.0 and 9.5:1 compresion ratio. I was told by the engine shop that I should intall a 2000 rpm stall converter. The engine will be installed back into my 65 Mustang w/ C4 automatic transmition, in which it came out of. My question is this, does anyone know what the factory torgue converter is rated at? I cannot find any numbers or part numbers on it, although it does have 'AB' stamped on the back side of the converter. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
: Thanks,

The stock converter will stall at about 1600 to 1800 RPM
